Editorial policy
Editorial policy
This short policy sets out the standards the initiative applies to what it publishes.
Factual accuracy
Factual statements should be verifiable. Where a claim cannot be supported, it should be removed or clearly presented as uncertain.
Opinion and research
Every piece should make clear what kind of claim it makes: established fact, informed interpretation, working hypothesis or open question. Editorial essays are identified as such and are not presented as research findings.
Attribution
Pieces written by the initiative carry the byline “Syrian Society Foundation — Editorial”. Named authors will be credited only when their identity and contribution are confirmed. Sources and quotations are attributed.
Corrections
Errors are corrected openly. Substantive corrections are noted at the end of the affected piece, with the date of the change.
Contributor credit
Contributors are credited in the way they choose, including anonymously where appropriate. Contributors’ personal contact details are never published without their explicit permission.
Conflicts of interest
Authors and editors are expected to disclose financial, professional or personal interests relevant to what they write. Relevant disclosures are published with the piece.
