Privacy notice
Privacy
This notice describes how this website actually works. It will be updated if the site changes.
What we do not collect
- There are no accounts, logins, comments, newsletter sign-ups or contact forms on this site.
- The site does not use analytics, advertising trackers, session replay or fingerprinting.
- The site does not set cookies.
- The site does not store your language choice in your browser. Your language is determined by the page address: English pages are unprefixed, Arabic pages begin with /ar.
Fonts loaded from Google
To display its typefaces (Lora, Inter and Noto Kufi Arabic), the site loads font files from Google Fonts. When your browser requests these files, Google receives your IP address and basic browser information, as with any web request. The initiative does not receive this data. If the fonts fail to load, the site falls back to fonts already on your device.
Hosting
Like any website, the server that delivers these pages processes technical request information, such as IP addresses, to deliver content and protect against abuse. The initiative does not use this information to identify visitors.
Search
Searching and filtering publications happens entirely in your browser. Search terms are not sent to a server.
Contact
If you write to info@thesyriansociety.com, your message and email address are received through our email provider and are used only to read and reply to you. We do not add correspondents to mailing lists or share messages with third parties. Messages are deleted when they are no longer needed for the correspondence. You can ask us to delete your correspondence at any time by writing to the same address.
